Ivan Green – Owner / Manager of Fabrication
After completing his trade in ‘Motor Vehicle Body Engineering’ as a bus fabricator, Ivan moved on to spend the next 16 years working for prestigious motorhome manufacturers such as Swagman and Paradise Motorhomes. He worked across various aspects of the manufacturing process from frame construction to finishing and service.
Looking for a change, Ivan undertook further training and proceeded to devote 11 years as a rigger/fabricator for structural steel on construction sites (schools, hospitals, etc.). With his family’s growing passion for motocross, Ivan began building flatbed motorbike trailers as a weekend hobby. His trailers were very popular and always received glowing feedback from his buyers.
Seeing a need in QLD for locally manufactured enclosed trailers, Ivan set to work designing and building a selection of basic enclosed trailers. Designing to maximise material usage and limit wastage, provided cost-effectiveness while not compromising on quality or style. With the manufacturing workshop located on a rural property at Upper Coomera, over-heads are also kept to a minimum which means customers get maximum value for their investment.
The overwhelming response and growing demand have seen his weekend hobby grow into a successful full-time business – MetalconX. As a family business, customers love the personalised service ….. and the beautiful scenery when they stop by the workshop ain’t bad either!
While motorbikes and dirt bikes were the driving force behind his initial designs, the customer base has expanded and MetalconX trailers are now purchased and customised for many different uses from flooring tradies, health equipment suppliers, to professional BBQers – yes, that’s actually a thing!
Sharon Green – Owner / Business Manager
Sharon has spent over 15 years in business operations working for local government and large international corporations. Performing various roles from contractor performance, project and program management, communications, workflow management, and application design through to business analysis, reporting, and process engineering. All the skills and experience acquired over that time are now put to use in operating the family business.
Sharon keeps things running smoothly day-to-day and has a focus on making sure customers are kept engaged throughout the build of their trailers. Never afraid to get her hands dirty and thrilled at the opportunity to step away from the computer, you will also find Sharon busy in the workshop alongside Ivan cutting and drilling.
